To support our continued growth and performance, we’re looking for an experienced HGV Workshop & Engineering Manager to take ownership of our fleet and engineering operations.

This is a pivotal leadership role with real influence. You’ll be responsible for ensuring our workshop runs safely, efficiently and proactively keeping our fleet compliant, operational and performing at its best.

Working Hours & Benefits

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Key Responsibilities

As Workshop & Engineering Manager, you’ll lead the HGV Workshop and Engineering Department and be accountable for delivering performance, compliance and continuous improvement.

Lead and manage a team of HGV Technicians, Engineers, a Service Coordinator and Administrator
Oversee the maintenance and performance of our HGV fleet, plant equipment and material handling equipment
Drive delivery against agreed KPIs and implement improvements where needed
Manage performance effectively, developing strong performers and addressing underperformance
Support the Health & Safety function in maintaining a safe working environment and high compliance standards
Ensure planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance are delivered smoothly
Achieve targeted MOT pass rates and maintain fleet compliance

About You

You’re an experienced workshop leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in running an organised, high-performing operation. You understand the importance of safety, compliance and team development and you lead by example.

Proven experience managing a busy HGV fleet workshop
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Experience within a fast-moving maintenance environment
Confident using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and other IT systems
HGV maintenance qualification (desirable)
